About me:
I enjoy web design, writing, wasting time on computer games, and other such craziness. Some things that I'm involved in:
- Inside Mac Games — former editor-in-chief (currently an author, due to time restraints)
- The Idol Bat (an online college tabloid) — founder and editor-in-chief
- Beckism.com (including the serial novel Dirt Man) — person responsible
I'm currently a senior at Whitman College, and am a Sociology Major who takes a bunch of classes in other disciplines as well. I've been known to be involved in the occasional crazy dance performance, and also have been sighted being generally ridiculous with the Stomp-esque percussion ensemble.
I love rain, Cinnabons, head rubs (although they put me straight to sleep), compassionate listening, humor, and people. I do not like violence or current hegemonic norms, and I hate all bigots.
If you want any more information, troll through the damn journal and form your own opinions or email me to ask.
Why "George the Flea," "Flea Bites," and so forth?
Like many things about me, it's a strange story. The quick and dirty is that sometime during junior high or high school I decided that I had an invisible friend named George the Flea (for some reason whenever I showed him to people they tried to squish him, but fortunately he was really good at jumping out of the way). Then I started using various things around the internet, and decided that rather than use sexxxyB0y6745 as my internet pseudonym, I might as well steal George's identity. Needless to say he didn't appreciate this (I had a bad week of invisible flea bites in retribution), but in the end he didn't have any choice. I've never had a problem getting screen names I wanted since. For some reason people just don't like referring to themselves as fleas, particularly fleas named George.
The name of the journal is "Flea Bites" because the things I post are generally more annoyingly superfluous than anything else. And because there's a lot of them. And because scratching them doesn't make them go away. Plus I just wanted to make the comments text say "bite back" and needed a reasonable excuse.
